2009 Green Building Leadership Awards

The James River Green Building Council will be holding its 5th Annual Green Leadership Awards Luncheon and Exhibition on November 18th, 2009 at the Virginia Historical Society in Richmond, VA!

Every November, the JRGBC honors organizations and their leaders for outstanding contributions to green building in Virginia. Help us celebrate our 5th Anniversary awarding green building leaders in the Commonwealth! In conjunction with the Awards Luncheon, the JRGBC hosts a large number of displays to showcase products, services and companies that participate in green building.

The JRGBC will present one award in four categories to those organizations and individuals who well-represent the Chapter’s mission. The four categories are: Non-Profit Organizations; Private Sector Businesses; Government; and Individual. Nominees must demonstrate strong and outstanding leadership and action in the cause of green building as a vital part of the local, regional or state community.

This year’s award winners were selected by a panel of judges including the Awards Committee, made up of volunteers for the organization; and guest judges, including: Cynthia Adams, Climate Protection Program Coordinator for the City of Charlottesville’s Department of Public Works; Karl Bren, owner of GreenVisions Consulting and founding Board member of the JRGBC; and Rich Jacobs, News Director and on-air voice talent for a group of four commercial radio stations in Richmond, Virginia.

This year’s location, the Virginia Historical Society, offers a commitment to historical preservation that is mirrored in the mission of the JRGBC. This year’s event schedule will maximize audience participation while offering great visibility to your organization. Attendees will enjoy lunch while visiting with exhibitors, followed by the event program and keynote speaker Preston Bryant, the Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources!

Attendees also have a chance to win door prizes from Acorn Sign Graphics, DPR Construction, Ideas on Legs , Republic Restaurant & ReStore, ECS Midatlantic LLC, and more!
