The James River Green Building Council has established several ways to promote green building in the Central Virginia region and to allow involvement by all sectors of the building industry and public. We have developed three program areas: educational offerings, social events, and award programs.

Get Involved

Become a committee member and be directly involved in planning our programs!  Not a member yet? Members receive discounts to many of our events in addition to other benefits. Looking for exposure for your green company? Become a sponsor of an event by contacting Megan Miller.

Educational Programs

Our educational programs include luncheon series’ in Richmond and Charlottesville, site tours of green buildings in the area, and workshops for LEED and sustainable building training. Check our calendar for dates and links to help register or RSVP for these programs.

Awards Programs

The JRGBC currently offers two programs to recognize and encourage leaders in our region for their green building efforts. The JRGBC Leadership Awards is a luncheon program to recognize organizations and their leaders. The Virginia Green Spaces Competition and Awards Forum recognizes built and unbuilt projects in Virginia or by Virginia professionals.

Social Programs

JRGBC and JRGBC-CV offer several Membership Events throughout the year for current members and interested parties to get together, socialize and catch up with the JRGBC. Keep an eye on the Event Calendar and the e-newsletter for information about upcoming events.

Refund Policy

The JRGBC will credit back 100% of the registration fee to any of its events if notice of the cancellation is received five business days before the event date. Refunds will not be granted after this time. Also, if you have registered for an event but not paid and cancel after the grace period, payment is still due.  However, substitutions are allowed.
