Porous asphalt pavements are attracting attention because of the role they can play in sustainable site design and storm water management. Get the whole story on porous pavement – from the big picture to making sure the details are right – by attending NAPA’s Porous Asphalt Pavement seminars. Some of the country’s top experts on the subject will explore every aspect of porous pavements, from initial site evaluation through design, construction, and maintenance.

Reorganization of Chapter Steering Committee
What Does This Mean for the JRGBC?
(more info)
The USGBC Board used a dynamic governance consent round at its August 22-23 meeting to approve the proposal for reorganizing the Chapter Steering Committee. This marks a major milestone in the development of the USGBC chapter network. Through the reorganization, every chapter will have an equal voice in policy-making. Chapters will need to plan for electing their representatives to their Regional Council by the end of January 2006. In preparation, Chapter Staff will host a webcast on Wednesday, October 5th at 12pm EST (RSVP here) to explain the regional implementation. Additional presentations, trainings and regional meetings will be held during the week of Greenbuild. Please read the attached description for details on how the CSC reorganization will work and the accompanying timeline for implementation.

GreenBuild 2005 Raffle
For the worthy cause of retiring the debt from the "Greening the Heartland 2004 Conference", the USGBC Heartland Region is conducting a raffle for two tickets to GreenBuild 2005.

Nick Peckham and the Missouri Heartland Chapter took a leap of faith 2+ years ago and set the bar high with the first Heartland Regional Conference, and they deserve a thanks and more importantly relief from this financial burden so they can apply their collective energies to current greening challenges. Not only will you be helping a worthy cause but for the nominal sum of $30, you just might be a lucky winner! We appreciate your participation in advance and look forward to seeing you all in Atlanta.
Ryan Snow and John Albrecht,
USGBC Regional Governance Task Force Members
