Bill Clinton to Keynote Opening Plenary of GREENBUILD
“This is an unprecedented opportunity for our green building community to hear from one of the greatest philanthropic and environmental leaders of this century,” said USGBC President and CEO Rick Fedrizzi. “The William J. Clinton Foundation is facilitating a series of global action plans that are addressing some of the most intractable problems of our times -- AIDS, economic sustainability as a way to eradicate poverty, the elimination of childhood obesity. His framework has shown the power that groups of individuals have to effect real change.”
“Reducing the C02 emissions that lead to climate change is another key area of focus, and it’s being addressed by the Clinton Climate Initiative, with green building as a cornerstone of that effort,” Fedrizzi noted. “We are making a difference, and President Clinton’s unique ability to inspire individual action will add incredible momentum to this important work.”

Sedalia Country Fair Needs Green Vendors!
"We've had this celebration of country life in Bedford County for almost fifteen years," recalls Dr. Bill McCabe, festival chairman and Bedford resident. "About 700 people came last year. It's great fun for the whole family -- animals, food, crafts, farm history all in one place."
A petting zoo with donkeys, Jacob sheep, dairy goats, fowl, cattle, swine, and Bedford County's only Coon Mule jump are the highlights of the Country Fair to be held Saturday, September 22, from 10 am to 5 pm at the Sedalia Center for the Cultural Arts. The festival also includes farm culture demonstrations and displays of home grown fresh produce, home-canned goods and baked goods. Children's face painting and a special hands-on paint-a-quilt activity are planned. Tickets are $5 for adults and children over 12. Children 12 and under are free and the event is held rain or shine.
