2007 Board Highlights
The Board was busy last year during a period of great membership and sponsorship growth. Thanks go to all of our members and sponsors for helping to make 2007 a very productive year! Here are some highlights:
- The Hampton Roads Division of the JRGBC became its own chapter.
- Charlottesville became an official Division under the JRGBC.
- Held several LEED workshops throughout the year including the First LEED for Schools.
- Membership continues to grow.
- Held a Go Green Competition & Forum as an independent event.
- Published a Go Green Book from the competition (available for sale on the web site).
- Awarded a $10,000 building grant.
- Held a symposium on Nature Deficit Disorder.
- Expanded our Annual Awards Luncheon to a full day event in partnership with Style Weekly and presented awards in four categories to local leaders and organizations deserving recognition.
- Entered into a partnership agreement with the largest Home & Garden show in Richmond for 2008 and 2009.
- Won the USGBC’s Award of Excellence for Organization.
- Conducted four lunchtime learning series programs.
- Held monthly evening network opportunities.
